Overcoming fear and phobias

Fireworks, strangers, new places: fear is learned, and so is confidence.

Living with a worried dog

Your dog trembles at thunder, hides from visitors, refuses to walk past certain places or never quite relaxes at home. You avoid situations, plan around triggers and feel helpless when they're frightened.

Sounds familiar?

Fear isn't a training failure or a personality flaw. Reassuring too little or forcing a dog to "face it" both make it worse. What works is building safety and confidence at a pace your dog can handle

How I build confidence

  • Assessment: I identify what frightens your dog and why, including whether a vet check is needed to rule out pain or health causes.
  • A step-by-step plan: Gradual exposure and positive association, so your dog learns that the scary thing is safe.
  • Support at home: Simple changes to routine and environment that lower stress between sessions.
  • Coaching for you: You learn to read your dog's stress signals and respond in ways that build trust.

All training is science-based and force-free. No flooding, no punishment, no forcing your dog to face their fears.
